Situated within easy access of big sister resort Avoriaz, the delightful Savoyard village of Montriond welcomes tourists and is a Portes du Soleil resort in its own right.
Montriond's charm is particularly enhanced by its lake, the third largest in the region. In winter, the ice can be nearly a metre thick. This means you can go ice-diving dive and watch the bubbles dance in their attempts to escape from their ice-prison. Other activities include cross-country skiing on the prepared paths around the lake - it'll cost you absolutely nothing!
