Take a moment to admire this magnificent stretch of water. At
33 hectares, it is the third largest lake in the department after Geneva and
Annecy. Maximum depth : 19m. Length: 1320m. Width: 235 m .
Fishing : as with all other
mountain lakes, fishing commences on the first Saturday in April. Numerous
species live in the lake, including Omble Chevalier, Truite Fario or Arc-en-Ciel
and Vairon.
Activities : in winter, the
lake is frozen in a coat of ice, in places a metre thick. Ice-diving is one of
the attractions; you can also practise cross-country skiing on prepared tracks,
for which there is no charge.
