At the foot of Avoriaz, Montriond has used the proximity of her big sister resort to develop its own independent tourist centre, giving it today the status of the 12th resort in the Portes du Soleil.
Montriond's charm is particularly enhanced by its lake, the third largest in the region, which draws ever increasing numbers of swimmers and walkers, thanks to its calm, magic and grandiose setting.
The Lindarets village is a must for families.
The highlight of the lakes year is the firework display organized every year at the beginning of August, an important date in the local events' calendar.
