The Vallée d’Aulps has a wealth of oratories and chapels, estimated at more than 100. Some are considered more important than others, and a number of them are open to visitors.

Graydon chapel: founded in 1859, this little chapel is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. With road access from Essert-Romand or on foot from La Valette in Saint Jean d'Aulps.

Promerat
chapel: with road access from the centre Promerat hamlet.

Essert-la-Pierre chapel: restored thanks to the hamlets' residents, this chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of Compassion and Saint Grat. Founded in 1534 and rebuilt in 1832.

Saint Guérin oratory
: located on the old mountain road from Le Biot to Saint Jean d’Aulps (it is now a walkers' track): start from Bas Thex near the abbey. The site of the oratory is said to be the place where Saint Guérin, en route for Sion, fell from his donkey and died in 1150. Built in 1814, this oratory is testament to Guerin's importance as the valley's spiritual father.

Not forgetting: chapels in Bas Thex and La Moussière in Saint Jean d’Aulps, or in Le Corbier and Gys (Le Biot)....
